The following organisations are involved in supporting the Syrian Vulnerable Peoples Relocation Scheme.
The helpline has been created to answer the public’s questions on how they can support the refugee crisis.
Europe Refugee Crisis Support Line number: 0800 107 8727
Supported by the Home Office, the line will help signpost members of the public to relevant agencies that can help them get involved in responding to the crisis, from donating goods, to offering accommodation.
The helpline will be staffed daily from 9am – 7pm.
A project of Birmingham Churches Together, aims to welcome, include and assist integration of refugees and those seeking sanctuary from persecution. Restore works to achieve this through:
- social activities,
- equipping refugees for work,
- advocacy and awareness-raising.
St Chad’s Sanctuary provides volunteering opportunities, ESOL courses, befriending and the collection and distribution of practical items.
The centre works with a network of individuals, churches, and agencies that collect quality baby and small children’s clothes, cots, bedding, toys, small household items and food to distribute to pregnant asylum seekers and refugees which require support.
The centre provides immediate support for refugees through fundraising and coordinating local support.
Provides information on refugee resettlement and offers free advice for asylum seekers and refugees.
